The Tail Rotor System
|
Directional control of the WASP is obtained from the
tail rotor. Tail rotor thrust is varied by changing
the pitch of the four small blades. The blades are
made of carbon fiber and turn at 6000 rpm. Power is
transmitted to the tail rotor through a drive shaft
suspended within the aluminum tail cone by four
bearings. |
